In my thoughts.....

My weekend has started early!!  I am heading to Houston for a fun crafty weekend with friends!
So I have a quick card to share today using some Verve stamps and dies.

I used some basic supplies to put this together.  Simply die cut some banners using the Banner Bundle Die Set.  The sentiment is from the set called Always on my Mind.  To finish things off, a few star sequins and small die cut stars from the Starry Die.

Lil' Inker Designs July Release: Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the Lil' Inker Designs July Release!   You should have arrived from the  Lil' Inker Designs blog.   But guess what??  The whole new release is now available and can be found HERE!!!

I'm sharing a card using the new Dance in the Rain stamp set and Cut it Out Clouds and Accessories.

I started out by heat embossing my sentiment onto watercolor paper with white embossing powder.  Next, I ran the stamped panel through my die cut machine with the "rain" die........the trick I found was to run it through with very little thickness and the die "outline" did not show!  Next I had fun and watercolored over this panel and trimmed.  I absolutely love these cloud dies featuring the new pattern!  The last detail was adding in some 4mm/6mm sequins.

All I can say is whoops........I had this ready to post but left it in draft form and I was away from my computer out of town this weekend for a family reunion.  So here it is.....on Monday.  :)

I just love this stamp set called Distressed Backgrounds and Ink Splats from Whimsy Stamps.  I needed a masculine card in my stash so I used a masculine color palette with a few enamel dots as accents.  I used all Fresh Ink for my ink splats as it has amazing coverage.  The sentiment is from Happy Everything.

Welcome to the Lil' Inker Designs July Release!  Fabulous new dies and stamp sets are coming out this week.....just you wait!  You should have arrived from the  Lil' Inker Designs blog.   But guess what??  The whole new release is now available and can be found HERE!!!

I'm sharing a card using the new stamp set and matching dies:  Fancy Feathers.  I love this set so much and may just be my favorite feather set!!  I absolutelyLOVE the sentiments Laura included.

I started by using the Quilted Stitched Pattern Die on kraft cardstock.  Then I did my diecutting and stamping of my feathers with Fresh Ink (Island and Putty).  My sentiment was heat embossed onto linen vellum that was die cut with the new Pinking Edge Sentiment Flag Die Set and stitched in place with my sewing machine.  The last detail was adhering some sequins that were layered together (6mm/8mm).

Cutting Edge Challenge #5

**Scroll down for my Reverse Confetti Color Challenge........the Color Challenge is still up and we would love to see your take on the colors this month!**

It's time to share the next Cutting Edge Challenge!  We have another beautiful inspiration project, this one done by Melania Deasy.  I can’t wait for you all to play along, so let’s get to it, shall we?!

Okay, here’s the gig!  Let yourself be inspired by Melania's card, and create a card that includes die cutting (all forms accepted).  There’s so much about this project to be inspired by, right?!  Here’s what I created:

7.26.14#2

I was inspired by Melania's card in several ways:  the colors, the layout, and the tiny gray dots.  I rotated my card and added a Stitched Mats: Rectangles layer over some gray polka dot paper.  I die cut the Smile word die with several colored layers, glued them together, and mounted on my card.  I diecut several butterflies from the Stitched Butterfly Die Set and scattered them on my card.  The last detail was to add those fun gray dots with my T4 Copic!!!

We’d love to have you play along with us! If you click on through to The Cutting Edge Challenge Blog, you’ll find lots of information, including:
  • The Winner of the last challenge, as well as the Top 3, are being announced;
  • The first half of the The Cutting Edge Design Team is sharing their samples for the challenge, and they are pretty fabulous;
  • The rules and regulations of the Challenge are listed; and
  • The InLinkz link-up tool for you to link up YOUR project!

The challenge closes on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 9:00 AM EDT, so what are you waiting for?!  You can find everything you need to play along HERE.  We can’t wait to see what you create!!

Reverse Confetti Color Challenge!

There is a great color challenge going on over at the Reverse Confetti blog!

July14Color

Here's my take on the color challenge for this month.  When I sat down to make my card with these colors, the only thing that kept coming back to me was the Fabulous Flamingo stamps and dies.  So that's where it took me!  I used lots of dies from Reverse Confetti for this one.  (See supply list below)

Make sure to visit the Reverse Confetti blog for all the details of this month's color challenge!  There is a winner each month and they become the 'Fetti Fave!

With Sympathy

Thanks for all your sweet comments yesterday!  They sure help to brighten my day!  But on a sad note, we have another couple who are friends of ours, who on Saturday, she lost both parents.  Having already lost one parent, I can't even imagine this tragedy.  I know time will for sure heal but there will always be that part that wonders how life would be if their loved one was still with them.  I know I do.

7.22.14#2

So in need of a SYMPATHY card for our friends, I came up with this using Reverse Confetti stamps and dies.  Using Petals 'n Posies with the matching Confetti Cuts dies, this card came together quick and easy.  I went with some soft colors as well as the soft gray stripes for the background.  And I just couldn't help adding in a few clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh!

Hello, Friend

Happy Monday!  Sorry for the absence here but we had a busy weekend full of fun times with our best friends that have now moved to Colorado.  It was hard to walk away (with lots of tears) from their send off party Saturday night but we know that we will see them soon and they are not that far away!  They are true friends and one of the best families we know!

Anyway, I have a card to share using Whimsy Stamps and I just LOVE how it turned out!  I played around with Distress Inks and a Memory Box stencil called Zippy Dots for my background.  I diecut 3 "hello"s using the Hello die from Whimsy Stamps and glued them together for dimension.  I added a "friend" word stamp from the Happy Hello stamp set, a sprinkling of sequins from Pretty Pink Posh, and a few wood veneer stars.

SSS: This is The Life

Ah, this is better late than never!  I just haven't had time to get this card blogged with my staycation and subsequent daughter's visit to the ER last weekend.  She is doing MUCH better and just has a cough at this point but antibiotics will be in store for quite a few more days.  I've enjoyed all the cuddles and love we've shared!!  Thank you all for the well wishes!!  xoxo

So.....did you see the new Simon Says Stamp This is The Life release from last week?  Lots of new stamps, dies, and stencils.

I played around with a new set called Best Fishes and matching dies.  Can you say CUTE?  I also sponged some Surf Blue Simon Says Stamp ink onto a new Stencil called Waves over a Surf Blue cardstock panel.  I added in a few stamped elements to my fishbowl using Smoke and Orange Peel ink (also from Simon Says Stamp).  I die cut this adorable fish and colored with copics.  My fish was layered behind a clear cardstock "fishbowl".  (I couldn't capture it in the photo).  My sentiment was stamped on vellum and some strips of Orange Peel cardstock which were to ground my fishbowl.

BestFishes

I'm sending this over to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (just under the wire) for their challenge: Let's Be Clear!

That's all for today!  Thanks so much for sharing a part of your day with me!
